General
While I am not a traditional classroom educator, education and mentorship have been central parts of my career and personal life for many years. In the U.S. Navy, I served as a helicopter pilot and instructor responsible for training and developing pilots in high-pressure environments where safety, accountability, and leadership were critical. I also worked as a graduate teaching assistant at UCLA and currently lead learning and development programs in my professional role. Education is also deeply personal to me -- my mother was a teacher, and several members of my family work in education today.
Professionally, I am an Operations Maintenance and Facilities Manager responsible for 41 buildings and leading approximately 380 individuals. My work focuses on leadership, budgeting, long-term planning, safety, team development, and operational accountability -- all skills that translate directly to effective school board governance.
I don't just talk about supporting our schools -- I show up.
Community involvement is something I care deeply about. I'm an active member at several local schools -- including Monarch Grove Elementary, Baywood Elementary, and Los Osos Middle School, and I regularly volunteer at my child's schools, and other SLCUSD schools -- supporting events, helping on campus, and showing up for our students and staff.
I've participate in community cleanups, attended San Luis Coastal Unified School District Board meetings, and I'm a proud member os Kiwanis International, where I work alongside others to support local youth and families.
I believe strong school community partnerships and consistent, hands-on involvement -- and that's exactly the kind of leadership I'm committed to bringing to our district.
I decided to pursue this position because I truly care about this community and the future of our schools. I want to help ensure every student in San Luis Coastal Unified School District (SLCUSD) has access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality education that prepares them for success. I believe our schools should continue moving in a positive direction while remaining focused on students, families, teachers, support staff, and long-term stability. I have the time, patience, leadership experience, and dedication to serve thoughtfully and work collaboratively for the benefits of all students.
We chose to raise our family here because this community represents the values that matter most to us -- strong schools, supportive neighbors, safety, and an incredible quality of life for children and families.
From our schools and dedicated teachers to the natural beauty of the Central Coast, this community provides an environment where families can truly thrive. We wanted our children to grow up in a place where people know and support one another, where community involvement matters, and where education is valued.
Being involved in our schools, volunteering in the community, and raising children here has only strengthened my commitment to helping protect and improve what makes this area so special for future generations.
Supporting teachers and staff starts with listening to them, respecting their expertise, and ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed. Our educators and school employees are the foundation of student success, and they deserve leadership that values collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
I believe we must focus on retaining great teachers by fostering a positive work environment, improving communication, supporting classroom resources, and making thoughtful long-term financial decisions that prioritize students and staff. I also believe school employees should feel heard and included when important district decisions are made.
As a leader, I understand strong organizations are built by investing in people, removing unnecessary obstacles, and creating a culture where individuals feel supported and empowered to do their best work. My goal is to help ensure SLCUSD remains a district where talented educators and staff want to work, grow, and stay.
